“To achieve the highest accomplishments within the scope of our capabilities in all walks of life, we must constantly strive to acquire strong, healthy bodies and develop our minds to the limit of our ability”

Pilates for Women

The great thing about the pilates method is that everyone can do it ... men, women, children; no matter what your current health and fitness is!

Pilates works for women with:

  • needing to rehabilitate after injuries or operations
  • pre and post pregnancy
  • toning, stretching and strengthening
  • all over body conditioning
  • young and old
  • overweight

PREGNANCY

Pilates is highly recommended during and after pregnancy. Not only does the strengthening of the core stabilizing and the pelvic floor muscles help support and protect the spine during pregnancy, it also
makes post-natal rehabilitation far more effective.

Other benefits include

  • Strong pelvic floor muscles, which help prevent Urinary Stress Incontinence.
  • Healthy back and pelvic floor muscles to assist in labor and delivery.
  • Intricate breathing technique to assist in relaxation.
  • Strong postural muscles to help prevent back pain caused from breast feeding and handling the baby.

It is strongly recommend that all Pregnant Clients see a Physiotherapist for an assessment before beginning Pilates. This is to ensure that it is safe for both mom and baby to be exercising.
